About Blueline Taxis

Although it is difficult to be sure, it seems that Blueline Cars Ltd have traded in Harrogate since at least 1910. From then until 1933 it had been part of the Pynes Coaches business, after that and up to 1965 the company was owned and managed by the late Cyril Botterill. He retired in 1965 and sold the business to his eighteen drivers who then operated as an unregistered association.

Progress

The company continued to expand which led to the purchase of two local companies. The company now included Private Hire vehicles and this led to the establishment of Blueline Cars Ltd, the present company. The company act as managing agents for the shareholders who are all self employed drivers, most own their own vehicles. This took the number to eighty owner drivers plus ten company owned vehicles.
